The Boston chapter of Black Men Run (BMR Boston) hosted the annual Black History Shakeout run this past Sunday in Boston. Starting at City Hall Plaza, the 2.6 mile shakeout run explored Boston's role in the Underground Railroad. Members of BMR Boston Across read stories at key spots in Boston; "[stories] that shaped the city’s legacy as a sanctuary for freedom seekers, spotlighting the courage and activism of abolitionists like David Walker and Maria Stewart to the triggering impact of fugitive slave laws." bmrboston instagram page
