Elle St. Pierre sets an American Record at BU

On Saturday, February 14, Elle St. Pierre competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University, where she set a new American indoor 1500m record with a time of 3:59.33 on her way to a mile finish in 4:17.83. Her fast pace pushed three collegiate athletes to run under the former NCAA mile record. Racing behind St. Pierre, Riley Chamberlain, Wilma Nielsen, and Jane Hedengren now hold the three fastest times in collegiate history, recording times of 4:20.61, 4:21.04, and 4:22.22, respectively.
