The Franklin Park Turkey Trot 2025 attracted a record number of participants on Thanksgiving morning, benefiting from clear skies and crisp weather that provided perfect racing conditions. It continues to be Boston’s largest Thanksgiving Day race, deeply embedded in community tradition.
Since its inception in 2013, the Franklin Park Turkey Trot has evolved into Boston's largest race held on Thanksgiving Day. Hosted by the Franklin Park Coalition, this event highlights community spirit, family involvement, and local pride. Participants, including both runners and walkers, mainly hail from Roxbury, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and Mattapan, with numerous out-of-town family members also taking part.
The 2025 race reached full capacity, with registrations maxed out and the event completely filled. Hundreds of families and individuals took part, creating a festive and inclusive beginning to the holiday. The atmosphere was joyful, featuring runners in turkey hats, children in strollers, and volunteers cheering along the route.
