New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships

On the second day of the New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Tufts' Quinn Hampson ran 3:52.52, overtaking WPI's Avi Bissoondial down the stretch to win the men's 1500 meter race. Avi finished just behind in 3:52.81 to post the second fastest time of the day. His WPI teammate, Everett Mosher finished in the third position in a time of 3:57.01.




The top competitors in the women's 1500 meter race drove each other to personal bests. Grace McDonough of Connecticut College ran 4:24.12 to win the event. Pria Parker of Smith finished second in 4:29.49. Pria's teammate Lyda Martin finished in the third position running 4:37.30





The men's high jump was won by Eli Wilson competing for Northern Vermont-Johnson with a jump of 2.06m (6' 9"). Sean Patrone of UMass Dartmouth finished second with a jump of 2.00m (6' 6.75"). Michael Makiej of Suffolk finished in the third position with a personal best of 2.00m (6' 6.75").





Aryianna Garceau of UMass Boston ran her fastest time of the season (as of this meet date. She ran even faster on May 10 at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championships.) Aryianna finished in first place, running away from the field in a time of 13.75. Katherine DeFosse of Springfield ran 14.35 for second place. Bridgewater State's Alison McDonough finished in the third position in 14.40.

The top two women in the women's 100 ran personal bests. Blessing Kieh of Connecticut College finished in first place with a time of 11.81. Gordon's Amaris Goodwin was close behind in the second position finishing in 11.86. Jillian Strynar of Trinity finished in third place (12.02).

In the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, Calvin Cummings of Tufts finished first in 9:24.24. Riley Brutvan of Hartford nipped Luca Dia of Brandeis at the line for the second position. Riley posted a time of 9:33.25, with Luca closed behind in 9:33.34.






Simone Beauchamp of Wellesley won the women's 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:11.40 (her seasonal best.) Alexandra Simon of Wesleyan (Conn.) finished in second place with a time of 11:21.43. Emma Steedman of UMass Dartmouth finished posted the third fastest time of the day, finishing in 11:29.11.
