Top New England High School Sprinters

There's been some top competition in New England so far this season. Some of the fastest times in the country have happened in our backyard. The following listing spotlights the fastest New England high school sprinters:

The top time in the country for 55M belongs to West Warwick's Lisa Raye (Rhode Island.) She ran 6.83 at the US Marine Corps Holiday Classic. Laura Quarm from Methuen ran a whisker above seven seconds (7.08) to tie for the nineteenth fastest time in the US.

Lisa Raye ran 24.23 to post the eighth fastest time in the 200M at the Beantown Winter Classic. Xenia Raye, Lisa's talented sisted and competing for West Warwick High, ran 24.62 (Beantown Winter Classic) to post the seventeenth fastest time.

Breanna Braham of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional dipped under 57 seconds to run 56.68 to post the 20th fastest time in the country. Breanna ran her fantastic time at the MSTCA Boston Holiday Challenge

In the 55M run, Machai Henry from Danbury High School, Danbury CT, ran an outstanding 6.42 at the Beantown Winter Classic. That time has him tied for the fifteenth fastest time in the nation.

In the 200M, Tayedza Jaravaza ran 21.81 at the BU Mini Meet in mid-December. Tayedza runs for Wilbraham & Monson (Wilbraham, MA) and his time is the twelfth fastest time in the country this year.

At the same Mini Meet at BU, Tayedza ran the third fastest time in the US (48.26.)

Brady Thomas from Walpole High School dipped under fifty seconds (49.43) has a terrific meet at the MSTCA Holiday Challenge a few days ago. Brady's time puts him at number 18 in the nation.

I look forward to being near the finish line, seeing more of your fast times and having my camera in focus from time to time!
